The creature from The Shape of Water is essentially a giant pet with superpowers. It even eats a god damn cat and is excused from it because it "doesn't know any better", but yet it's shown as normal that a woman falls in love and has sexual relations with this thing, and it's even portrayed as her being "liberated from oppression" of some sort, which is waaay beyond where I personally draw.
